Frequently Asked Questions about Microsoft Tech Summit in Frankfurt

The Microsoft Tech Summit in Frankfurt is intended for IT professionals and developers currently working in the tech industry who are at least eighteen (18) years of age or older.

Once your registration is confirmed, you will receive additional emails with the full agenda, as well as instructions for accessing the Session Manager, which allows you to review sessions and build your conference schedule within the 30 days of the event.


Registrants confirmed as attendees will have the option to pre-print their badge prior to the event.

To print a badge, log into the website and click the 'Print Badge' button on the 'Summary' page. Print the badge PDF on a standard color or black and white printer and bring it with you to the Express Registration check-in area onsite. Bring it to the event along with a valid government-issued photo ID (i.e. ID card, Driver's License or Passport, etc.) to check in.

Attendees must wear badge, at all times, so that security personnel will know that you are a registered attendee.

Attendees who have pre-printed their badge can use the Express Check-In to access the event more quickly! See instructions above on how to pre-print your badge, and present it and a government-issued photo ID at one of the Express Check-In stations. The staff will scan the barcode and provide a badge holder and lanyard.

If you do not pre-print your badge, you can visit a badge print station to check in and print your badge.

Please bring a valid government issued photo ID (i.e. ID card, Driver's License or Passport) to show to the check-in staff, in order to receive your badge holder and lanyard.

Registrants who have completed the registration process who experience trouble logging back into the Registration website should try a hard refresh to clear the cache and cookies and relaunch the browser. Opening the browser in an "in private" or "incognito" browser session is recommended. To do this, go to the website, select the same login method ('Microsoft Account' or 'LinkedIn' button) and login credentials used to register previously to log in.

Event emails will be delivered to the business email address provided during registration. Registrants who do not receive event communications should check 'junk', 'spam' or 'clutter' folders to confirm email client settings have not redirected the emails. Please also add the Registration Team alias microsofttechsummitreg@eventcore.com to the 'Safe Senders' list, to ensure receive future email communications will be received.

The event is free to attend (no admission fee). A continental breakfast, lunch and coffee breaks will be provided and snacks with beer and wine will be available at the ATE Networking Hour. All other costs associated with travel, transportation, parking, accommodations, additional meals, etc. will be the responsibility of the attendee.

Microsoft does not provide accommodations for attendees and the event does not offer a hotel block or discounts. Attendees are free to locate a hotel that meets their needs and contact them directly to arrange accommodations.

The Microsoft Tech Summit is a series of free-to-attend events targeting 14 markets around the world, and has not been designed to support/sponsor individuals from other geographies to attend one of the events, unless they are already able to travel to the concerned country. Thus, we regret we are not able to assist attendees with an invitation letter for a visa application.

The Microsoft Tech Summit does not offer certification or education credits for attending the event.

WiFi will be available, and attendees are welcome to bring personal devices. Computers are not required, as all regular conference sessions are presentations (not interactive).

Please visit the session catalog for an overview of the content you'll find at the event. The session manager will launch one month prior to the event, which allows you to review sessions, speakers and times, to help build your personalized schedule.

Attendees will receive an email approximately two weeks after the event with instructions for accessing the available session presentations and videos.

Internet access will be available to the attendees for free (no charge).

All sessions will be presented in English, with English Open Captioning*, which will appear at the top of the presentation screens.

Due to the event's photography restrictions, and to prevent possible loss, attendees are strongly encouraged to leave cameras at home. Photography is prohibited within session rooms. It is permitted in public spaces for generic photos of the overall event, but please obtain consent from individuals before taking their photographs.

Although the event does not require a specific dress code, business casual is recommended. Attendees are encouraged to dress comfortably for sitting, standing and some walking.

A continental breakfast, lunch and coffee breaks will be provided and snacks with beer and wine will be available at the ATE Networking Hour.

Microsoft plans for attendees with many dietary requirements and most attendees will find suitable choices within our standard options. Special meals will be offered this year for lunch, and attendees may choose one during the registration process. Refreshment breaks will include healthy options.

Dietary Restrictions and Food Allergies
Please be advised that Microsoft Tech Summit standard attendee meals will have labels to help identify dietary restrictions and allergens.

Special Meal Request Deadline
Dietary Accommodations must be pre-ordered 15 business days prior to the first day of the event and subject to availability from the venue. The deadline for attendees to submit or change a special meal request is Thursday, February 1. Requests received after the deadline are subject to availability on a first come, first serve basis.

Special Meal Cancellation Deadline
If you are unable to attend and have requested a special meal, please cancel your event registration no later than Friday, February 16. This will effectively cancel your meal request as well.

Submit, Change or Cancel a Special Meal Request
Instructions for editing dietary information, after registering, are below:

  2. Scroll down the page and click 'Contact Information' to expand the section
  3. Click the 'Edit' button
  4. Scroll down to the 'Dietary Accommodations' section and provide your selection
  5. Click the 'Submit' or 'Update' button
  6. Click the 'Sign Out' link

Special Meal Pick-Up
Signage at the entrance of the lunch area will direct attendees to the specialty meal pick-up area. Attendees may also ask any banquet server in the lunch area for the location of specialty meals.

The deadline to submit accessibility and/or personal accommodation requests is Thursday, February 1. Every effort will be made to accommodate late requests, however requests received after the deadline will be fulfilled based on availability.

  • Service Animals: Certified Service Animals are welcome at the Microsoft Tech Summit.

Accessible Accommodations – Hearing

  • Sign Language: Microsoft Tech Summit will provide one (1) complimentary conference pass to attendees with a Sign Language Interpreter to assist them onsite. To request information on this pass, contact the Accessibility Concierge by emailing Accessibility@BESevents.com.
    • Attendees who would like to request a Sign Language Interpreter be provided for them, should contact Accessibility@BESevents.com no later than Thursday, February 1.

Accessibility Accommodations – Mobility
